Hubby and I discussed our Sunday plans on Saturday evening, we agreed that he had tasks to complete for his upcoming work week and , provided we would be staying home, my focus was going to be on the latest Beyond Layers challenge. I haven’t participated a lot of late, with the holidays and oodles of doodles in the kennel so I was excited to have an afternoon.
Well, the day wasn’t progressing as it was supposed to in my mind. First Hubby made lunch – I know, how can I complain, he was being nice. So before I really got started, we had lunch. I was in the midst of trying this cup and that when Hubby popped in to say, maybe we should move our late afternoon plans for a drive up to now….ugh!
After a couple of deep breaths, all the while hiding a grimace with a grin….I thought of a way to make this all work. I grabbed a book and my camera – threw on a hat to cover my (going every which way) hair and away we went.
On the way to our destination, an old Van Morrison song played on radio – The Bright Side of the Road. I found it to be very fitting today.
Why on earth would I even consider giving up a ride in our convertible on a January day with the man of my dreams?
