Our Beyond “thinking” topic this week is “don’t prepare, begin”……well I’m past the age of (wanting) to change my perfected art of procrastination. I’ll play along with this game :-) but change my inclination to play on the computer or read my kindle when the task of straightening my closet looms – nope, isn’t going to happen.
I do the important stuff, I happily take care of the dogs every single day (I have a kennel – so we’re talking more than feeding Winston). I maintain my website, create a monthly newsletter, post care and training hints for my doodle people, and answer numerous emails in a timely fashion (this is my – why I need to do laundry list – ha!) – I don’t ever procrastinate when it comes to “work”. My house looks very tidy, unless you open that closet door – I’m a closet slob.
I realize that my Beyond Layers classmates are very accomplished photographers, and it’s okay with me that I’m not. I love taking Kim’s classes and I enjoy piddling with my camera and Photoshop. For me this is the little “extra” that I enjoy for myself – and I most certainly enjoy it. I find myself “refreshing” my email as I anxiously await for Beyond Layers on Mondays and Thursdays – I already know I’m going to miss this when its over.
Today’s photo is an attempt to keep in mind Kim’s suggestion of a whisper. I’m not a quiet person, the colors in my home are bold, my clothing is muted only when providing a backdrop for some sparkle, I even tend to talk too loudly on my phone while cruising through TJ Maxx. Just know that I tried to tone it down :-)
