I thought I’d give my new “white room” aka the claw-foot tub a test run…..
Tart
Our challenge for last Thursday, which I’ve been fiddling with for several days, was to create an image based on a word or thought. Well…. I broke the rules a bit. I took the photo first, then added a word at the end. This is the original photo taken on top of a very old whiskey barrel found in our mill – it now sits on the back porch.
I wanted to practice a little photo editing in an attempt to soften and blur. I used my regular lens (a 50mm is on the way) and played with the Blur filters in CS5. I then added two of Kim’s layers – I followed Kim’s video tutorial (love those!) and this is the end result…..
I may try this again with a lighter background – we don’t have anything close to a white room in our home – but I’ve thought of a spot that might just work – until next time…
Six Words
Mom and Me
On Christmas 2011 my mother gave me the beaded bracelet that was put on my wrist almost(we don’t want to rush) 56 years ago. How my mother can loose her favorite coffee cup and yet hang on to this tiny thing amazes me. Kinda awesome, don’t you think?
I used Kim’s cotton candy texture and two layers of awesome, removing one from the mother bunny – I wanted a little variation in their color since they’re both identical.
