I’m playing a bit of catch-up with my Instagram photos. I’ve been keeping up on Instagram, just forgetting to share them here. I love following along with daily prompts, if I miss one I simply skip it – I treat them as a suggestion rather than an order – kinda like speed limit signs and yellow lights…….
People Watching
Our challenge this week was to do a little people watching. Well…..I live in a very small town with the worst mall ever. I suppose I could capture some great pics at the Farm Bureau but I suspect I wouldn’t go unnoticed in the parking lot for long.
We took a little drive on Sunday and stopped at a brewery for lunch. I was disappointed with the few photos I was able to sneak. However, this one couple was so sweet, I wanted to include them no matter the quality. Initially I didn’t pay much attention to them, they looked like all the other couples there having a quiet lunch and some quiet conversation. When the waiter brought their drinks, they made a toast to one another, and clinked their glasses. That’s when I noticed the sparkle in their eyes and how their faces were more animated when they looked at one another. It’s the little things that make a long time marriage continue to be special and it was obvious to this observer that they still had “it”.
The gentleman was proudly wearing a shirt and hat that bore the U.S. Marines logo – a good man….
The following photos were taken when my nephew was visiting this summer – I love the sheer delight on his face when he’s playing with the puppies…..
I tried one in black and white…
but I had to go back to the pretty green grass…
A people watching day will be great fun when we visit San Diego next – this fall with any luck.
Scavenger Hunt
I’ve fallen so far behind and was grateful for an assignment that I could participate in while on the run. Here we go, on the list…..
Bench…Hubby made this bench for me when I started my Snap-Peas blog – it’s what visitors see when they come to the back door. Everyone comes to the back door at our house.
Reflection….again Hubby. He made this dolly dresser for me and had this little girl looking at herself in the mirror when I unwrapped it.
Bold Color….Hubby didn’t invent these and I did resist them. If they’d had peanuts it might have been a different story.
Someone U Love…. Hubby. Sons aren’t around to photograph, or they’d be included – we’re at a “you and me, babe” stage in our lives.
Countryscape….taken on our drive home from a winery on Sunday. We’re California transplants living in the Shenandoah Valley, Virginia – it’s always beautiful.
Light…morning light always seems to hold the promise of a fresh start…taken from my front porch.
Water…I accessorize EVERYTHING!
It’s been a fun week – thanks Kim!
My Furry Friend
Last week’s theme was right up my alley – I have so very many furry faces to select from. Heaven knows I tried, the one little trait my dogs seem to lack is the “hold still for a second” mode. I tried with puppies – not a single decent shot between 2 batches. They all wanted to play and would get close enough to lick the lens. Then I moved on to the house dogs. Winston was always the perfect poser, until Tula came along. She is always in motion and if Winston is quiet, Tula pounces. I finally gave up…..these are the best I can do….
As you can see, Tula is pouting. The next one looks like it has a scratch – no, Tula has a piece of paper hanging out of her mouth and is enjoying a game of “keep away”. I adore her, she has such personality.
I’m so grateful this week involves Instagram and a scavenger hunt……maybe I can keep up with this one.
