I can’t believe we’ve reached the end of our year with Beyond Layers, it’s flown by as they seem to do with increasing frequency. I have loved every class and every new challenge. I was holding my breath and keeping fingers crossed that Kim would find a new way to keep us moving forward in her company. She did!!
I learned that I didn’t feel the need to produce the best photos – that’s huge for me. I’m a wee bit competitive and generally am not known to do something twice when I’m not instantly fabulous. Like Backgammon – hate it. Somehow my brain, at 56, has been able to simply enjoy the process and that’s been enough. I signed up for Beyond for pleasure and it gave me that every week. Some results were better than others, each was a unique learning experience – I’m so glad I have access to return to the lessons and practice all of my favorites this year. I’ve earmarked a few already.
Our Monday challenges were, on occasion, a challenge for me – not a bad thing though. They made me reflect a bit about my life, things that have happened and how I want to go forward – all good, just different for me.
So I’ve reached the end of my year, a little more self aware, with oodles of new Photoshop tricks in my repertoire ready to continue on with Beyond Beyond. Already hoping there’s a triple “B” in my future.
And because it’s all about the photos…
Thanks to Kim Klassen for everything you do!
